This recipe is brought to you from my kitchen at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday when I accidentally got a little drunk taste-testing the perfect Thanksgiving cocktail. I even made the best cranberry sauce ever in an effort (that ultimately failed) to make cranberry simple syrup. I was looking for something easy but strong enough for those awkward family moments on Thanksgiving day when some family member is bound to mention politics. That’s the time you take your cocktail outside for some fresh air.
But I think I’ve struck the perfect balance! I made this based on a whiskey orange, but it’s got some cider and spices in it to keep things festive. Plus I’m from Kentucky, so we prefer bourbon. I hope this recipe helps you enjoy your Thanksgiving just that much more. Let me know what you think!
